The goal of Vivakanata is to offer intercultural exchanges to young people so that they can learn about themselves and others in the hopes that they become better communicators as well as skilled and compassionate leaders.
Kanattitude is the word we use to describe someone that is willing to go above and beyond what is expected of them. They are open to new experiences and willing to give it their all. This word is not about age, race or gender. It is about setting an example. It is about trying to be the best person that you can possibly be. It is about giving back to your community. It is about going away to learn about another culture and coming back having learnt more about your own.
Do you enjoy every moment? Do you like learning about new places and cultures? Do you like making new friends? You've got it!

The guides are the glue that holds it all together! We have both Canadian and International guides. The International team members are bilingual with a good deal of experience traveling or studying abroad. The Canadian team members have a love for meeting new people and expanding their horizons. These people are here to ensure that your children are having a safe, happy and educational time away from home.
Participants between the ages of 16 and 18 that are motivated, enthusiastic and team players with an excellent level of English have an opportunity to apply to be Junior Guides. JG's are given additional courses and training in order to help them to become better prepared leaders. All JG's must apply for a position and space is extremely competitive as well as limited.
